We went to the Zoo with our son, Ethan for his first Zoo visit!! He loved the Monkeys the most. When we got to them, they were making all sorts of funny noises, and Ethan was laughing so much! It was so cute. We saw and Elephant, Gorillas, Giraffes, Zebras... and by the time we got to the alligator, he was ready for a nap!

Baby's First Bike Ride
My husband took our son on a mini bike ride around our yard the other day! Someone from his work gave us a baby seat, so we wanted to try it out :) We didn't have a helmet yet so he just rode around on the grass in our front yard. lol.
But yesterday we bought a helmet for him and rode around the park! Ethan had a great time till he got a bit fussy at the end :) It was a great family activity!!

A New Love...
Aside from my hubby, my baby, and crocheting, I now love SWAPS! Trading of any kind. The world of trading was brought to my attention by MOONSTITCHES. Her blog is amazing, by the way. Anyway, she has a link on there about BackTack, which is a really awesome swap. Go there to see what it's all about, sign ups are going on right now and end on Oct 4th.
So after seeing that, I thought to myself, "There's got to be other trading places out there!" So I searched Google and found Swap-bot. There's all sorts of trades going on there! It's going to be a lot of fun. I am sending a Whimsey Jar to someone in England, and a Journal to a girl in Austrailia. I love other countries...

ALSO... I got yarn in the mail yesterday! I love getting yarn in the mail, it's so exciting! I had ordered this awesome yarn from Bare Sheep Yarn, so of course I started crocheting as soon as it got here. I finished the shawl, and the neck warmer just needs a button..
I'm expecting more yarn this week, too. I'll let you know when it gets here!!

My Little Guy
This is my 7 month old son, Ethan! He is awesome, I have to tell you. He's a pretty happy little guy. Very strong, lots of energy. He says mama (and dada sometimes). He army crawls, eats stage 2 foods, and sits up by himself. I think he's the cutest baby ever (of course!!)

Fingerless Glove Frenzy!
Wow, I've been so obsessed with making fingerless gloves lately!! I made up all the patterns myself, too. I don't know why it's so easy for me to make up patterns for them... It just happens ;) Here's some that I have made recently:
Yes! I can finally model my stuff, now! Lol. I had a baby 7 months ago and just recently felt up to modeling, haha. So if my sister or her friends can't come model for me, I can just set up my tripod and do it myself. Very convenient.
It was my birthday yesterday and my Mother-in-law watched our son, while my hubby took me out to Red Lobster! This is a special treat because my husband hates sea food. Don't ask me how that is possible ;) After that we did some clothes shopping for me, but we ended up also buying a few things for our son. Aaawwww.

Contests I have entered lately
1. I entered this shawl I crocheted in the Etsy Hookers Team Challenge this month.
I didn't win, but I came in 3rd, out of 43 entries, so I think that's pretty good! I'll be entering again next month, though! Check out the Etsy Hookers Blog.
2. Another contest I'm entering (which is going on till friday) is the Graceful Babies Contest. Check it out Here.

My Favorite Yarn!
There are a lot of people who sell hand dyed, hand spun, and recycled yarn on Etsy. Here are some of my favorites:
FatCatKnits. She is so sweet, and she's also made me custom dyed yarn before, too. Here is something I made from her yarn:
dkKnits. Her Special Occasion yarn is gorgeous!! I made this with her yarn:
Crazy Monkey Creations. Such soft and bright, happy yarn! With her yarn, I created this:
Mystifibers and Awesome Yarn. She sent me a bunch of Banana Silk yarn because I made her a shop banner! She is soooo nice, and you will love her! Her yarn is gorgeous! I made this wrap with it:
So go check out these incredible yarn seller's stores!!

My plans for Christmas
I know that a lot of people make holiday items and sell them in their Etsy shops, but I am just not going to do it. If it doesn't sell, you're sitting there with all these christmas items for an entire year. So I'm just going to make a lot of stuff this year, but not holiday themed. My store will be filled with great gifts, though! I feel like if you buy someone a christmas scarf, they can really only wear it for a short time. No fun. Maybe winter themed is a better idea. Like snowflakes or something. Thats not directly related to Christmas. Yay, brainstorming while I write. lol.
Anyway, last year I made this awesome black scarf with a skull on each end. I actually made 2, one for each of my nephews who live in Oregon. They were a big hit!! So I'm thinking of making more of these and selling them in my store. I have another skull pattern that I use for more girly scarves. I actually sell the pattern on my Etsy site.
I'm hoping to get more of the girly ones made, because I keep selling them. With good reason, they are awesome. lol.
